Cut & Sewn and friends make bold 2009 predictions

Posted on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 by lee

We’ve decided that we should put out some predictions of events that will occur in 2009. This way, during the year, we can see how psychic we are or how silly we were.

1. The bow tie will replace the non-bow tie as the dress up a button-up shirt accessory of choice.

2. Sarah Markham of I Didn’t Pack For This says, “Damon Weaver will get his interview with Barack, courtesy of Cut & Sewn’s effort.”

3. Lil Wayne will not have an opportunity to appear on a new single everyday in ‘09.

4. Shallom Johnson of Stylefinds thinks, “I predict that we will get the warmest summer we’ve had in years and I will spend most of it on the beach in a bikini.”

5. Jay Piddy of jaypiddy.com says, “The retro 80’s will quickly fade and an early 90’s Grunge’esque will follow. Soundgarden will reform to capitalize on the craze!”

So many more after the jump. (more…)

An event for me: s’MACdown

Posted on Wednesday, December 31st, 2008 by lee

sMACdown is one thing I’ve marked down in my calendar for 2009. I will be fully at this event hosted by Midge Pingleton. I love contests and I LOVE mac n’ cheese, just not that gross Target Buffalo Blue Cheese Macaroni stuff. It will be in Williamsburg on January 21, for more details click the picture above or go here. See you there.

The BEST of 2008 for you from me

Posted on Friday, December 26th, 2008 by lee
This is my top 25 of 2008. I’m not sure what I’m missing, but I think this is a great list. If you want to add something, let me know in the comments and I’ll add it on to the list.

They called me dirty, but I call me art

Posted on Wednesday, December 24th, 2008 by lee

The last time I saw a dirty car with the words “Wash Me,” I thought to myself, “How cliche is that?!” Ok, I don’t think I actually talk or think like that. However, I do think cool things can be done with dirty windshields on dirty cars. Thanks to Erin, for sending over to me Scott Wade’s Dirty Car Gallery. He’s done it all, with more after the jump. It’s a Holiday Playlist

Posted on Friday, December 19th, 2008 by lee

Like a holiday sweater, this playlist is awkward even for Christmas.

Christmas is coming. I see it on the walls.

Found again on Wooster Collective, this series of elves have been seen in the streets of Auckland, New Zealand. It puts me in the spirit for suresies. By the way, if you’re buying me something, can you make it a Roombie? More pics after the jump and of course, email street art links to lee@cutandsewn.com. (more…)

your site is really kinda garbage

Posted on Tuesday, December 16th, 2008 by cutcrew

“your site is really kinda garbage, try a re-launch”

When we first read that comment last week, we laughed (except for Lee, who cried himself to sleep). Then we got to thinking if this person took the actual time to enter in a (probably fake) name, an (invalid) myspace, and a semi-constructive critique, there might be others out there. So we decided to make it a call to action.

In an effort to be better, we are welcoming ALL feedback regarding the site – good or bad. Listen, we will be the first ones to admit that the site is far from perfect, so if there is there something you don’t like, something we could do better, something you wish we had, whatever, just let us know. So leave a comment or send an email to feedback@cutandsewn.com.

Peace

Nintendo meets Lego: the results are astounding

Posted on Monday, December 15th, 2008 by lee

Name that game and you’ve found the key to my heart. I’ll give you a clue, it used the light gun (not pictured or legoed). Found on geekologie, great site by the way, is famous Nintendo game scenes in legos. Where is Blades of Glory or Jordan vs. Bird, though? More great legos by skinny coder after the jump.
